Home State Cowboy Lefty Holman Claims Win at Norco Mounted Posse PRCA Rodeo

Lefty Holman is in the bubble race, making another run at Las Vegas. He is also chasing a California circuit title, and a familiar California rodeo just gave him another boost in those standings.

The Visalia, California, saddle bronc rider won the Norco Mounted Posse PRCA Rodeo for the second consecutive year, this time taking the championship outright and collecting $2,500 toward his 2026 NFR push. He was 86.5 points on Diamond G Rodeo's Stiletto Night. 

Riggin Smith claimed second with 85.5 points, and Bailey Small was not far behind with 85 points. Logan Hay and Tom Webster split 4th with 84.5 points. Matt Cicisly, Jake Clark, and Jasper Frost rounded out the top 8 placings. 

Holman was a co-champion at Norco in 2025, making this year's win a repeat performance at a rodeo that has been good to him. The five-time NFR qualifier is now trying to turn that success into another trip to the Wrangler NFR.

He currently sits No. 20 in the PRCA World Standings, but the race isn't over just yet. Holman is less than $20,000 behind the current top-15 mark, leaving some opportunity for him to make up ground. However, the year is coming to a close in about a month, and Holman needs some big wins to keep that NFR goal alive. 

He has already qualified for the NFR five times and knows exactly what it takes to survive the final weeks of the season. Now the goal is to put enough money together to get himself back inside the top 15 before the regular season closes.

The Norco win is another piece of his year. However, it might have only paid $2,500; every dollar counts. This win also furthered his lead in the California circuit. He has over $21,000 there, but number 2 man Reed Neely is less than $1000 behind him.

With less than $20,000 separating Holman from the NFR picture and major rodeos still ahead, the $2,500 he picked up in Norco could become another important piece of his late season push. Every dollar matters, especially in a race as tight as this. 

Another big story from Norco, California was in the bull riding. 20 year old Gavin Lichtenwalter was the only man to ride. That 8 seconds and 82 points was worth nearly $10,000. Gavin now sits number 4 in the California circuit standings.
