Jose Vitor Leme Breaks the PBR Teams Riding Record

Jose Vitor Leme is a skilled, experienced bull rider who has competed professionally for 9 years, making his debut in the 2017 PBR season. Right from the beginning, Jose has been making PBR history, racking up wins since his very first season when he won the title of 2017 Rookie of the Year. He then won the PBR World Champion title in back-to-back seasons, 2020 and 2021, as well as the 2025 champion title.

Since the 2026 PBR Teams Season began in July, Leme just can’t seem to keep out of the headlines. Less than a month into the season, Jose Vitor Leme reached a career milestone by logging his 90th career 90-point ride on Oyster Creek Brawler. Since then, he has clocked two more 90-point rides, pushing his total to a shocking 92 career 90-point rides. Jose has his sights set on breaking Chris Shivers’ all-time premier series record of 94 total 90-point rides. With how Vitor Leme has been riding recently, there’s little doubt that he will be able to reach this goal in the near future.

In the meantime, however, Jose has set yet another career record. Currently riding for the Austin Gamblers, Jose Vitor Leme has officially become the first rider to ever go a perfect 3-for-3 in four straight PBR Teams events. This truly amazing performance has resulted in a nearly perfect season record, as he has clocked 15 rides for 17 outs, giving him an 88.24% riding percentage on the season.

This hot streak was much needed as Jose Vitor Leme as he was sidelined form the 2026 PBR World Finals due to a tendon and groin injury sustained in Billings, Montana. Jose made the strategic decision to sit out of the World Finals so that he could be best prepared for the PBR Teams season. Clearly, this strategic choice paid off as he has arguably been riding in one of his best rhythms to date during the 2026 PBR Teams season.

It’s little surprise to PBR fans that Jose has comfortably climbed to the top of the 2026 PBR Teams MVP race, posting an impressive aggregate score of 1328.85. Now, every consecutive ride Jose Vitor Leme makes will be adding to the official PBR record for the longest riding streak in PBR Teams history. Although he has already built a strong legacy for himself with PBR, his achievements are expected to simply keep stacking up as he continues his riding career.

Overall, Jose Vitor Leme is an amazing bull rider who keeps getting better. Riders like Jose play a huge role in why the industry values “veteran” riders, showing how experience can play a huge role in professionalism and composure in the chutes. When experienced composure meets raw talent like Jose Vitor Leme's, the result is a truly unique, memorable, and successful rider who is sure to continue this trend in the weeks to come. PBR fans are on the edge of their seats to see what this rider will do next.
