First it was Chase Field, then Caesar's Superdome, and now Raymond James Stadium. The Hondo Rodeo is taking rodeo to the biggest stages in the country!
The Hondo Rodeo is now known to take the cowboys and cowgirls to the biggest stages, in places where rodeo is not super common. First, they headed to Phoenix, Arizonia for two years in Chase Field. Now, this past weekend they added the Hondo Rodeo Fest New Orleans style in Caesars Superdome. Meanwhile, they made a big announcement about the next venue to host rodeo.
Raymond James Stadium, in Tampa Florida was announced to be the third home of the Hondo Rodeo Fest. In February of 2027, the best cowboys and cowgirls will head to the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL Team to compete for huge money.
The Hondo is more than just a rodeo, it is an entire weekend of fun. This is a world class event from the rodeo action to the music, to the venues, and the crowds. Every bit of the Hondo is the biggest and the best.
It was not long ago that they announced the New Orleans addition. Now, they are moving fast planning big events and big growth across the country. Everyone of these venues is huge. We are seeing that any arena or stage can be an arena, and the athletes deserve this kind of stage.
Tampa will likely follow the same format of a three day event, invite only for contestants, with nightly sold out concerts by the industry's best.
The Hondo Rodeo Fest website puts it this way.
"The Hondo Rodeo Fest celebrates the spirit of the West by bringing together the best in rodeo, music, and Western culture under one brand. We showcase world-class athletes, top-tier artists, and a rodeo family that welcomes everyone who loves the Western way of life. From the arena dirt to the main stage lights, The Hondo delivers the ultimate weekend in Western sports and live entertainment."
It goes without saying, rodeo is growing in incredible ways, much of that is thanks to people like The Hondo team putting these athletes on the stages they deserve and in front of new excited crowds. These events put rodeo on the same platform as the NFL, MLB, and other major professional sports.
Stay tuned because more annoucements and information about The Hondo Rodeo Fest Tampa style are to come!
