The 2026 Texas Swing wrapped up in San Angelo where it came down to the wire before champions were crowned.

The San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo closed out the 2026 Texas Swing in competitive fashion. San Angelo is the last of the big Texas building rodeos before heading into the spring and summer runs.

By the time competitors reached San Angelo though, the season was no longer about getting started. Across every event, the champs weren’t just the fastest or the highest marked in one round however, they were the ones who put together multiple runs and rides with consistency.

In the bareback riding, Wacey Schalla continued an already strong season with a 178.5 point aggregate on two head. He came into the finals in a good position after a fourth place finish in the long round, then took control with a 91 point ride on J Bar J’s Damn Straight to secure both the round win and the championship. It was another example of Schalla’s ability that has gotten him this far in his young career.

The steer wrestling came down to consistency, and Jesse Brown executed finishing with 18.3 seconds on four head aboard Banker. A 4.2-second run was enough to win both the finals and the average.

In the team roping, world champions Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira added another win to their résumé. Their 18.7 seconds on four head was built with 4 consistent runs, but it was a 4.5 in the finals that sealed the title.

The saddle bronc riding saw Chase Brooks take the title with 176.5 points on two head. After an 86.5 in the long round, Brooks got better yet in the finals with a 90-point ride for the title.

In the tie-down roping, Sam Lewis, a college cowboy, capitalized on his opportunity. He finished with 36.3 seconds on four head, highlighted by a 7.2-second run in the second round and an 8.8 in the finals to secure both the round win and the average. It marked a significant win in the young mans career.

The breakaway roping belonged entirely to Danielle Lowman, who completed a clean sweep of the event. From start to finish, she controlled the leaderboard starting strong with a 1.9 in the long round. In the barrel racing, Michelle Alley got the win with a 43.94 second aggregate on three runs.

Noah continued his winning streak in San Angelo. After winning the Xtreme Bull event there this year, he continued by winning the rodeo too. He is an 18 year old rookie, and made a huge 93 point ride to secure the win.

As the Texas Swing wraps up, the World Standings are shifting constantly. After these big winter rodeos, many season leaders already have over $100,000 to their name. This is likely going to be a record breaking season.
