RODEOHOUSTON, with a total purse of over 2.5 million, is a game changer for rodeo athletes.
Super Series 1 wrapped up after three rounds of competition inside NRG Stadium, determining the first group of athletes advancing toward the semifinals in one of the richest rodeos in professional rodeo. Early success in Houston will dramatically shift the PRCA and WPRA World Standings.
Each Super Series features eight contestants competing across three rounds, with money paid in every performance. After those rounds are complete, the top four competitors in total earnings advance to the semifinals.
Uniquely, the Super Series champion of each event earns Houston’s iconic electric guitar.
Cole Reiner closed out the series in style, winning the final round with 86 points aboard Ruby’s Girl. He paired that with a fourth place finish in Round 1 and a second place finish in Round 2. The Buffalo, Wyoming cowboy secured the top earnings spot to advance in the series with $5,625.
Reiner, currently sitting No. 5 in the PRCA world standings, could see a Houston title vault him toward the top of the leaderboard.
Wacey Schalla, the current world standings leader, finished second with $4,125. Jess Pope placed third with $3,375 and sits just outside the Top 15 this season, while Missouri Valley College cowboy Jason Wilson, who won the opening round, held on to advance fourth.
Marc Joiner made the fastest runs of the series, stopping the clock at 3.6 seconds in Round 2. This was more than a full second faster than any other time in the bracket. Combined with a second place finish in Round 3, Joiner finished with the most won with $5,000.
Five time world champion Tyler Waguespack followed closely with $4,750. Trisyn Kalawaia, the 2026 Fort Worth champion from Hawaii, finished third with $3,000. Two time NFR qualifier Tristan Martin claimed the final advancing spot.
Consistency was important in the team roping. Veteran in the game, Clint Summers and Jade Corkill advanced as the top earners despite not winning a round outright at all. The duo placed in all three rounds to lead the bracket with $3,750 each.
Summers is a five-time NFR qualifier, and Corkill, a 14-time NFR qualifier and three-time world champion. They were followed by Kavis Drake and Denim Ross with $3,750. Jake Smith and Douglas Rich finished third, while Dustin Egusquiza and JC Flake ended up with the final advancing spot.
Allen Boore set the tone in the saddle bronc by winning Round 1 with 85 points aboard Box Cutter before also splitting Round 2 with Gus Gaillard after both marked 84.5 points. Boore’s back-to-back wins secured the series lead with $5,500.
Lefty Holman advanced second with $3,875, followed by Gaillard with $3,250 and Parker Fleet in fourth.
The breakaway roping belonged to arguably the most decorated cowgirl in the sport, Mrs. Jackie Crawford. Jackie used a Round 2 win with placing in the other two rounds to top the series with $5,750.
Rookie Kirby Rawlinson finished second with $4,000, while Fort Worth champion Jill Tanner, finished third with $4,000. TiAda Gray ended up with the final advancing spot.
Veteran Tyson Durfey showed his experience in NRG, winning Round 2 and placing in both other rounds to top the series with $4,750. The 2016 world champion and 11-time NFR qualifier is proving time and time again that he can still compete with the sport’s best in the younger generation.
World standings leader Ty Harris finished second with $4,000 won, followed by Trevor Hale and Michael Otero.
Michelle Alley accomplished something rare already in Houston. She sweept all three rounds of the barrel race to collect $9,000 already and claim the series title easily. Riding Lipstick N Stilletos, Alley enters the semifinals with the largest single event earnings of Super Series 1.
Veteran Lisa Lockhart finished second with $4,000 shortly after becoming the first WPRA competitor to surpass $4 million in career earnings. Four time world champion Hailey Kinsel finished third, with Chloe Gray advancing fourth.
Jake Gardner was the only man in the series to cover all three bulls, earning $5,500. Roscoe Jarboe matched Gardner’s earnings with $5,500 at the top.
All-around standout Wacey Schalla finished third to advance in both the bareback and the bull riding. Superman Stetson Wright secured the final advancing spot after winning Round 1.
