
Action was on fire for night 2 of The Hondo Rodeo Fest with great performances by the best athletes is the world and the best country artists in the world.
The Hondo Rodeo Fest at Cesars Superdome in New Orleans, LA continues to be the best rodeo in the biz and keeps stepping up the game each and every night, Night 2 just set the bar even higher.
The Bareback riders started off the evening with some great rides and some incredible scores. Bradlee Miller took the top spot with a 89.1 ride on Andrew Rodeo's "Empty Promises". 2nd place went to Cole Reiner with a 88.8 on J - J Rodeo's "Sweet Lizard, 3rd was awarded to Jess Pope on Andrew Rodeo's "Red Bone" with 87.5 points.
Next up the Steer Wrestlers pulled down some fast times seeing Rowdy Parrot taking the win in a lightning fast time of 3.56 secs. 2nd place was captured by Dakota Eldridge who settled with 3.94 secs and 3rd saw Ty Erickson taking down his steer in 4.19 seconds.
The Team Ropers performed and showed up in full form. Dustin Egusquiza and Paul Eaves hauled in the win with a 3.49 sec performance while 2nd place had Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira string out their calf in 3.67 secs. 3rd was awarded to Tyler Wade and Wesley Thorp for their 4.09 sec rundown.
The ever exciting Saddle Bronc riding had Sage Newman take the top spot with a flashy 90.2 points on Diamond G's "War Horse". Wyatt Casper rode into second with an 88.6 ride on Andrew Rodeo's "Brutus", 3rd and 4th place saw a tie between Kade Bruno on Generation Pro Rodeo's "Wild Valley" and Statler Wright on J - J Rodeo's "Dirty Lizard" both with 87.8 points.
John Douche came in hot to win the Tie-down Roping with a quick job at 6.61 secs. Second place was tied up by Joel Harris with 7.5 secs and 3rd place had Kincade Henry do his job in 7.09 secs.
The Breakaway ladies came in to dazzle the crowd with spot on throws and the winner of the evening was Josie Conner doing her thing in 1.69 secs. Chayenne McCartney found the 2nd place spot with an 1.86 sec run and Martha Angelone took 3rd place with a speedy 1.99 sec toss.
Mackenzie Mayes is on fire for the Barrel Racers and took first place for the second night in a row, finishing up her pattern with a 13.622 sec run. Next up was Brittany Pozi Tonozzi and her 13.657 sec run and 3rd place was run down by Tricia Aldrige with her 13.711 sec performance.
Last up was the Bull Riders who had some rank rides but the dust settled with Hayden Welsh taking the top spot with an 88.9 ride on McCoy's "Ugly This". Second and third placements saw a tie between Braxton Whitesell on McCoy's "Snuggles" and Lane Vaughan on McCoy's "Jojo" both ending their eight second rides with 87.2 points.
The action was spectaculer and it all concluded with amazing music from Old Dominion opening for Cody Johnson. Night 3 is gong to be another display of greatness that everyone is looking forward to.
