History has shown us that on their way to a gold buckle, many World Champions add a RODEOHOUSTON title to their year. With a $65,000 paycheck, this win is a big deal, and every year the standings shift dramatically after the action winds down in NRG Stadium.
Last year, 3 of those on that path were Rocker Steiner in the bareback riding, Riley Webb in the tie-down roping, and Kassie Mowry in the barrel race. Now again in 2026, these three outstanding talents came out on top in Houston once again and are well on their way to another world title.
Rocker Steiner is known for his electric energy and huge scores. His win in Houston last year started off a year that would become record breaking and would make him a World Champion.
Steiners grandfather was a World Champion bull rider, his dad a World Champion Steer Wrestler. Then Rocker showed up in the bareback riding and got his own gold buckle in 2025. He isn't slowing down in the new year either.
Before Houston began, Wacey Schalla led the bareback riding standings with just over $70,000 to his name so far this year. Rocker was outside of the top 20, but the Weatherford Texas cowboy knew that it only took one big win to get to the top. Well, that is a bir RODEOHOUSTON win.
Bradlee Miller set the standard in the finals with an 88 point ride that was going to be hard to beat. However, with Steiner still left to go, Miller was less than safe. Rocker rode Cervi Championship Rodeo's Pancake King for 88.5 points to take the championship and skyrocket him to familar territory. Steiner is back to number 1.
The tie-down roping had a similar story with one of rodeo's favorites, Riley Webb. The young Denton, Texas cowboy is chasing his fourth consecutive gold buckle. His name went down in the record books after his third this past year in 2025. A RODEOHOUSTON win last year helped him get there.
Not only did Riley Webb go back to back in NRG Stadium, but he did so in record breaking fashion. A 6.5 second run in the final shootout round would break the arena record by nearly a second and give him his third RODEOHOUSTON in four years.
No doubt about it that Webb is becoming the face of the tie-down roping, and is well on his way to breaking more records along the way. 4x coming this December!
She is known as the Greatest Of All Time for a reason. Kassie Mowry and the amazing Jarvis are once again your RODEOHOUSTON champs. Last year Mowry won her second consecutive world title. That win in Houston last year not only helped shape that gold buckle race, but gave Kassie a much easier summer schedule.
Kassie went into the NFR in December leading the World Standings and did so with going to less than 30 regular season rodeos. This is a rare feat. However, that $65,000 again this year is setting her up to be able to accomplish the same in 2026. The 8 million dollar cowgirl is no stranger to the record books, and this win in Houston added one more title to her name.
RODEOHOUSTON is one of the most coveted title, and to do it twice in your career, let alone back to back is a feat very few can say they ever accomplish. Congratulations to Rocker, Riley, and Kassie. Winners win, and these three winners are redefining what champions look like over and over again.
