After the 2025 Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals in Jan 2026, Rodeo Roundtable had a few minutes to catch up with Weston Timberman and gain some insight on how a bareback bronc rider prepares for the rodeo life, the inevitable injuries, the mental game and how a champion holds it all together.
Weston Timberman came onto the professional rodeo scene in 2024. The young bareback bronc rider form Montana, in his first year on the PRCA rodeo circuit, took home the Resistol Rookie of the Year title and also qualified to his first NFR Championship in Las Vegas, NV, in what is sure to be the first of many for Timberman. The 2024 rookie year came to a close with Timberman sitting in the 7th place bronc rider in the world, quite the feat for a first year bronc rider.
In 2025 Weston was prepared to conquer the coveted title for number 1 in the world but true to all who participate in bareback riding, injuries happen and those mishaps plagued his sophomore year in the world of pro rodeo not allowing him to climb the ladder to the top and achieve his goal. Still true to his passion and dedication he still ended the season with a great year, just not with the results he was working hard to get.
Through it all, Timberman took each lesson to heart and didn't let it dampen his spirits or his career. Determined on becoming the best bronc rider in the world and a true winner on and off the dirt Weston focused not only on his physical strength but his mental strength and spirituality. Being the best of the best doesn't only come from being able to ride a 1200lb+ beast for longer than 8 seconds but by being a winner in the everyday walk of life.
Rodeo Roundtable was able to catch up with Timberman during his rally to end the 2025 season during the 2026 Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals in Great Falls, Montana in January of 2026. Weston, spoke of his successes & falls, his battles on and off the dirt and his growth. He shared with us how he plans to move forward and be the best he can mentally and physically. With a slower start to 2026 than he planned he recently broke in to top 50 Athletes for Bareback Broncs and currently sits at #41 and is still climbing. This young champion is growing into one of the sports top athletes, a rider whom everyone can look up to and with his commitment Weston Timberman is sure to be a legend.
