After the NHSFR in Lincoln, Nebraska, four of the champion athletes have officially punched their ticket to the 2027 PWR Championships.

Championship Exemptions for the 2027 PWR Championship have already proved to be an exciting development in the female rodeo sphere. Athletes have been earning their tickets to the 2027 PWR Championships nearly a year before the event, which is sure to offer countless opportunities for growth thanks to the reduced immediate pressure.

Some of the most recent championship exemptions have ensured that the younger generation of rodeo athletes will be well represented at the 2027 PWR Championship. The National High School Finals Rodeo in Lincoln, Nebraska, has produced four new exemption earners. These young high school athletes are some of the best in the world, let alone in their age group. Because of this, they will get the opportunity to compete on the biggest stage in women’s rodeo.

Breakaway roper Shylene Drumm was one of the four to receive her ticket to the 2027 PWR Championship with an astonishing total aggregate time of 6.85 seconds on 3 head. This means that the young roper averaged around 2.3 seconds per run, a time that can easily hold up in the PWR Championship. Such impressive talent is truly deserving of a championship exemption, further showing the benefits of this new PWR rule.

Subsequently, Hadley Thompson punched her ticket to the 2027 PWR Championship in goat tying with a total aggregate time of 20.25 seconds, which included the fastest run of the day with a short-go time of 6.41 seconds. This cowgirl is now a back-to-back World Champion in goat tying and is sure to bring some impressive times and tough competition to the PWR Championships.
