At just 24 years old, Kincade Henry has surpassed $1 million in career earnings and continues to build on his 2026 season as one of the top contenders in tie-down roping.
As we begin to look at the World Standings while the Texas swing begins to close, we can't help but to notice some of the standout stories. We have talked about Riley Webb, as the three time and reining World Champion who just won RODEOHOUSTON and sky rocketed to the number 1 spot in the tie-down roping. However, there is another story that is closing in on Webb, and his name is Kincade Henry.
Another milestone has been reached for the young talent, and it’s just part of a bigger story that’s still unfolding.
The 24-year-old tie-down roper officially surpassed $1 million in career earnings back in March, doing it while right in the middle of another strong season. This milestone and 6 figure number is not just about what he’s done, but what he is doing right now while in his prime.
Henry has been one of the most consistent names in tie-down roping to start 2026.
For quite some time at the beginning of the year, he held the No. 1 spot in the world standings, before Riley Webb surged ahead following a major win at RODEOHOUSTON.
Even so, Henry hasn’t gone anywhere. He currently sits No. 2 in the world standings with more than $96,000 earned this season, continuing to stay right in the mix as the year takes shape. Webb and Henry have a large lead on the rest of the group of guys moving up in the PRCA World Standings.
The money has come from everywhere. A win at Fort Worth, strong earnings in San Antonio, and more than $20,000 at RODEOHOUSTON have all contributed to what’s already been a standout year. Most recently, Henry placed in a round and the average at Rodeo Austin, and cashed in Waxahachie and Huntsville, Texas rodeos.
Now, the Mount Pleasent, Texas cowboy is headed to the Hondo rodeo New Orleans debut, before hitting the road to more PRCA rodeos.
Consistency has been the theme.
If 2026 feels like a continuation, that’s because it is. In 2025, Henry turned in the best season of his career, finishing No. 3 in the world standings and making sure the rest of the guys know that he is here to stay.
At the National Finals Rodeo, he placed in five rounds, picked up two round wins, and finished seventh in the average, earning more than $156,000 in Las Vegas alone.
After one of those round wins, Jeff Medders specifically took notice in this young cowboy and explained that although he does not have a gold buckle just yet, "this kid is not going anywhere anytime soon. I would bet we see him for many many years to come Butch."
The Difference Maker
Behind every great roper is a great horse. For Henry, that horse is Mario. Mario is a 20-year-old gelding that has played a major role in his success.
In this sport, having a horse that knows the job and does it exceptionally well can be the difference. For Henry, it sure has been. The combination of a talented roper and a seasoned horse has turned into one of the most consistent duos in the game right now.
Henry has already qualified for the National Finals Rodeo four straight times, and now, he’s pushing toward his fifth appearance.
This year, his expectations are different. He has his eyes on the gold.
With a million-dollar milestone behind him and another strong season underway, Henry is no longer just one of the young guys coming up. You could nearly call him a veteran to the sport, and to the Thomas and Mack even though he is not even 25 years old yet.
2026 is shaping up to be the best year yet for Kincade. As he continues to stack up wins, there is one in particular that he is aiming for, and it's the World Champion title at the end of the year.
