Shad Mayfield and Lollipop continued their late season heater with a blistering 7.6-second run in Stephenville, adding another standout performance to a stretch that has carried the duo back to the NFR.
Shad “Money” Mayfield and Lollipop really have been living the good life lately, and the duo added another impressive performance to their late season run in Stephenville, Texas.
Mayfield and Figure To Fly, better known as “Lollipop,” stopped the clock at a blistering 7.6 seconds in the tie-down roping at the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo. The run put Mayfield at the top of the leaderboard by a sizable margin, with Cash Fuesz sitting second at 9.0 seconds and Semaj Collins Jr. and Chizm KuyKendall tied behind him at 9.4.
For Mayfield and Lollipop, the run was another chapter in what has become a memorable stretch together.
Just days earlier, the pair found success more than 1,600 miles away at one of professional rodeo’s most iconic stops: the Pendleton Round-Up. Mayfield and Lollipop conquered the famed grass arena to win the average after tying three calves in 30.0 seconds, earning $10,546 in the process.
That Pendleton victory was especially meaningful for Mayfield. The two-time PRCA World Champion entered the final stretch of the regular season fighting to secure another trip to Las Vegas, and the win provided an important boost when every dollar mattered.
Lollipop has proven herself to be more than capable of handling those high-pressure moments.
The 2010 mare was named the 2024 AQHA/PRCA Tie-Down Roping Horse of the Year after playing a major role in Mayfield’s success that season. The partnership has continued to shine, and from the massive grass arena at Pendleton to a record-setting trip down the alley in Stephenville, the mare has once again shown her versatility.
Mayfield’s late-season push has also secured his place among the top 15. Through Sept. 27, unofficial standings had the Clovis, New Mexico, cowboy sitting No. 14 in the world with $139,391 in regular-season earnings, putting him in position for another trip to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
It has been quite the comeback season for Mayfield, who returned to competition after undergoing hip surgeries following the 2025 NFR. Once back on the rodeo trail, he wasted little time making up ground, collecting checks and climbing his way back into the NFR conversation.
Now, Mayfield and Lollipop are finishing the regular season doing what they have done so many times before…winning when it counts.
From a Pendleton title to a 7.6-second run in Stephenville, “Money” Mayfield and Lollipop are proving once again that when the pressure rises, this duo knows exactly how to deliver.
