Leverkusen's ability to rebuild is becoming ridiculous.

Most clubs lose Wirtz, Xhaka, Frimpong, Grimaldo, Tah, Hincapié and Alonso within such a short period and the cycle is over. You accept a few years of transition and start again.

Leverkusen basically started building the next team while the previous one was still being dismantled. It took time, but I personally feel like the new generation is now ready to take over.

Quansah, Badé, Gutiérrez, Tillman, Maza, Kofane, and especially Moreira. Completely different team, completely different generation, but one with huge potential again.

I think this is what Simon Rolfes deserves the most credit for. Not just finding good players, but knowing when to move on and making sure Leverkusen are already halfway into the next cycle before everyone realizes the old one is finished.

His work deserves a lot more appreciation, I believe.
