The start of the 2026/27 season is fast approaching for Bayern Munich, with the first day of pre-season both an important and busy one for Vincent Kompany and his team.
A Busy Start
Pre-season day one was action-packed yesterday at Säbener Straße. Returning players underwent their initial medical and performance tests, whilst Konrad Laimer put pen to paper on a long-awaited contract extension. Bayern are working hard to get everything in order before setting off on their Audi Summer Tour of Asia on the 1st of August.

After the returning players had undergone their initial medical and performance tests, Vincent Kompany and his coaching staff gathered the players, including those from the reserve and youth teams, to outline the upcoming training schedule. And the schedule ahead is indeed a packed one for Bayern this summer...
Pre-Season Schedule
Pre-season kicks off with an away friendly against SV Wehen Wiesbaden this Saturday at 15:30 CEST. The game will be broadcast live on FC Bayern TV Plus.
From the 27th to the 30th of July, Bayern will hold a training camp in Tegernsee, with an open training session every day at 15:30 CEST.
On the 30th, there will be a friendly match played between Bayern and Rottach-Egern at the Stadion am Birkenmoos at 18:00 CEST. Tickets will be available to buy at the stadium only on Sunday, the 26th of July. Otherwise, the match will be broadcast for free on FC Bayern TV.
Then, on the 1st of August, the team will set off on its pre-season tour of Asia. The tour includes matches against Jeju SK (4th August) and Aston Villa (7th August).
USA TODAY Sports / ReutersShortly after returning to Germany, Bayern will face RB Leipzig in the Telekom Cup on the 15th of August, before travelling to face Borussia Dortmund in the Super Cup Final on the 22nd - marking the start of the competitive season.
Which Players Returned First?
Any players who participated in the World Cup will return gradually. The following first-team players arrived yesterday: Sven Ulreich, Tom Bischof, João Palhinha, Bryan Zaragoza, Sacha Boey, and Arijon Ibrahimović. Meanwhile, Serge Gnabry, Lennart Karl, David Santos Daiber, and Cassiano Kiala, are all continuing their rehabilitation from injury.
Luis Díaz, Konrad Laimer, and Josip Stanišić, are due to be the first to link back up with the squad before the start of the Asia Tour. Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Dayot Upamecano, Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, and Ismael Saibari will all rejoin the team upon their return from the Asia Tour, completing the squad before the start of the competitive season against Dortmund in the Super Cup.
