On the back of the Glasgow Derby win at Ibrox, there is a ton of positivity around Celtic. It has been this good in a while. Hopefully, the Bhoys will be able to ride on this wave of newfound momentum and get some big results over the coming weeks. Martin O'Neill has been able to squeeze out some impressive wins out of a squad that is clearly not up to the club's standards.
In the long run, this team needs a revamp. That means that quite a few could be heading for the exit door, while fresh arrivals are expected as well.
Multiple midfielders have been linked with exits in recent times. There is an air of inevitability around Reo Hatate's departure in the future after the Japanese international has spent more than four years at Parkhead. A move away in January was believed to be on the cards but it did not materialise.
On the other hand, the club resisted a £25 million offer for Arne Engels in the winter transfer window. The decision might be very different, though, if a similar bid comes in at the end of the season, when the Hoops will have all summer to find a replacement.
Jota. Matt O'Riley. Nicolas Kuhn. Celtic have constantly had big-money exits in the summer. Could Engels be the next name on that list?
Of course, if players like Hatate and Engels end up leaving, Celtic will need to find suitable replacements. So, it is curious that they are being linked with a versatile midfielder right now.
According to the Daily Record, Celtic are eyeing Filip Rozga. The Hoops declared their interest in the Polish international back in January but Sturm Graz weren't keen to let him go in the first available window, having signed him in the summer.
The report goes on to add that Celtic are continuing to scout Rozga. They are expected to try again in the summer.
Rozga is currently on the books at Sturm Graz, who Celtic faced in the Europa League this season. The 19-year-old has two international caps for Poland to his name already.
He has made 28 appearances, scoring and assisting twice each. His versatility is an added bonus as well. He can play as a number 10, on both flanks and even as a forward if the situation calls for it.
Is he someone who can come in and replace a proven midfielder like Hatate or Engels though? Most probably not.
Rozga would be another project signing for Celtic. And most of them have not worked out for the Hoops in recent times. If they do end up making a move for the Pole in the summer, let's hope they have gotten their recruitment right.
