Celtic's performances in recent games have been a point of concern for the supporters. Fortunately, they have been able to squeeze out results even on bad days. The latest example of that came in midweek against Livingston, as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain popped up with a winner on his debut for the Hoops in the 91st minute of the match.
Celtic cannot continue to rely on moments of individual brilliance every matchday though. The fans will be hoping that it is a much more comfortable watch when they visit Rugby Park this weekend.
Livingston are bottom of the table. The trip to Kilmarnock promises to be a bit tougher, as they sit at 11th in the league. That being said, these kinds of games can often prove to be the toughest, as the home team is willing to sit back. So, getting an early goal or two will be important for Martin O'Neill's side.
Both Junior Adamu and Tomas Cvancara, two strikers signed on loan in the winter transfer window, have been on the scoresheet for Celtic since their arrival.
On the other hand, there is some more good news for O'Neill when it comes to the fitness front of things.
Iheanacho has already dealt with two separate injuries since his arrival in the summer as a free agent. Curiously, he was left out of the squad in the recent wins over Dundee FC and Livingston.
Naturally, fans had been left worried that Iheanacho had picked up another injury. So, it is great to see him back in training. Let's see if he will be available to face Kilmarnock.
Iheanacho is the most experienced striker that Celtic have right now. The likes of Cvancara and Adamu do not have a proven goalscoring record at their previous clubs. The Nigerian striker has shown that he is capable of finding the back of the net consistently when at his best.
Admittedly, one of the key reasons Iheanacho was signed is because of his past connection, having worked with Brendan Rodgers. The Northern Irishman is no longer the manager of Celtic, having resigned earlier in the season. It remains to be seen if O'Neill will pick him to start games ahead of Cvancara and Adamu, if or when he returns to full fitness.
