The former Celtic player has emerged as a contender to become the manager of Crystal Palace, replacing Oliver Glasner.

Celtic Roundtable Round-up

Aside from the result against VfB Stuttgart, Martin O'Neill has been phenomenal since replacing Wilfried Nancy after the Frenchman could manage just two wins in eight games as Celtic manager. That being said, the club will need to look for a new head coach once again soon, as the Northern Irishman is only in interim charge until the end of the season. And at 73 years of age, there is very little chance that he will have any intention of extending his stay beyond that point.

Celtic have been linked with a few managers lately. Portuguese national team boss Roberto Martinez and Jens Berthel Askou of Motherwell are two names that have done the rounds of the rumour mill.

On the other hand, Ange Postecoglou has already confirmed that he is out of the running for the job and has not intention of returning to Celtic.

Another manager Celtic have been linked with in recent times is Robbie Keane of Ferencvaros. Of course, he already has a connection with the club, having played for the Hoops, albeit on a short loan spell.

His performance with Ferencvaros seems to be drawing a lot more eyes though. According to talkSPORT, Keane is a contender to replace Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace manager.

Glasner is expected to leave Crystal Palace sooner or later. His current deal with the Eagles runs out in the summer. But there is a decent chance that he could be sacked before that, as the club are going through a terrible run of form.

It is very possible that Celtic might have Keane as a potential candidate for the Parkhead job in the summer. But if a Premier League side come calling for his services, there is a very real chance that the Irish legend might decide to head back to England.

It is there that he spent the majority of his career, turning out for the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, West Ham United, Leeds United, Coventry City and Wolves.

His short spell at Celtic came on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. He was immense, though, scoring 16 goals in 19 appearances for the Hoops and winning the club's Player of the Year honour.

Celtic can only hope that one of their current loan strikers, Tomas Cvancara and Junior Adamu, end up producing that kind of output. If they do, there is a good possibility that the Hoops will end up with the league title.
