After faltering at Elland Road against Leeds, Chelsea and Enzo Maresca will look to pickup all three points during another away trip later today against a Bournemouth side who are currently placed 14th in the Premier league table.
The 3-1 defeat against Leeds felt like a gut punch for the fans as they were looking to give Arsenal and Manchester City a run for their money in this season's title run after a great start to their campaign.
The Blues manager has done a pretty decent job while managing his team so far as they defeated Barcelona in the Champions league and picked up a crucial point against league leader Arsenal despite being down to ten men but his team selection in the last game has been criticized by many.
With Cole Palmer available for today's game, Maresca will definitely look to add the talismanic midfielder in his starting 11 but when he was asked about Palmer's involvement in the game, Maresca answered saying, "I don’t know [if he can play] 90 minutes, but Cole is ready to play from the start," (As reported by Chelsea's official site)
Palmer has been out for a long period this season with a never ending groin problem but he has finally recovered from the injury and is ready to play ball for the Blues again before the end of the year and that also at a time when the Blues need someone influential to regain some confidence after dropping points in the last game.
Although Chelsea has done reasonably well without the 23-year-old England international so far but a fully fit Cole Palmer will definitely add that extra quality in this talented Blues side.
Maresca will also look to include captain Reece James back into the starting lineup after sighting fatigue as a reason to sit out for the previous game against Leeds and is being pointed out as a reason by many fans for their defeat. The manager has also pointed out that James could be ready to play three games a week owing largely due to his Injury free season so far.
With a victory against Bournemouth today, Chelsea could move up to third in the league table if Arsenal pick up an away victory against third placed Aston Villa as the Blues and Villa will both be on 27 points but the Chels would be ahead on Goal difference owing to the 25 league goals they have scored so far.
