The departure of Enzo Maresca and the subsequent appointment of Liam Rosenior has led to plenty of speculation, especially on the transfer front.
It comes as little surprise, especially given the current transfer window and the tumultuous nature of the Chelsea board and ownership group BlueCo. Add in the change at the top in managers and almost anything can be believed at this point.
Now according to an outlet in Spain, E-Noticies, Real Madrid could be looking to make a move for Enzo Fernandez at the end of the 2025/26 season. The outlet reports that Enzo is seen as a "perfect fit" for Xabi Alonso and his scheme at Madrid.
Enzo's position, flexibility and ability to stay fit are all reasons listed for his potential fit.
This isn't the first time Enzo Fernandez has been linked to Real Madrid, with multiple reports over the last few months showing interest in the midfielder. Real Madrid has expressed interest in multiple midfielders after the season but Enzo has been at the top of the rumour mill list.
It would be a massive blow for Chelsea as Enzo has been the most decisive player on the pitch and the most reliable. He has been the central cog in the system and much of their success has run through him.
It also highlights the instability at the club with the majority of supporters disapproving of the board, ownership and directors' decisions regarding the future, direction and purpose of the club. Players also mustn't be happy with the constant changing at the club and at some point their will be a boiling moment that may take years or even a change in ownership to reverse.
Enzo's potential departure may only be the first in a series of unfortunate moves to affect Chelsea in the coming months. Change is needed and quickly.
