Axel Disasi is a well-known French defender who has been part of Chelsea since 2023. He has not been a regular in the starting eleven due to strong competition at centre-back and the injuries he has suffered over the past two years. He joined Chelsea from Monaco, with the club making a significant investment to secure his transfer from the French side.
During his two seasons at Chelsea, Axel has played 61 matches, scoring five goals and providing two assists. Disasi possessed all the qualities to become one of Chelsea’s most important players, but his performances have lacked consistency. As a result, Chelsea’s managers have often preferred other defenders in the starting lineup.
Last season, in February, Axel was loaned to Aston Villa until the end of the campaign. At the end of the season, Aston Villa decided not to make the move permanent, and the French defender returned to Chelsea. During the summer, the club chose to leave Disasi out of their squad list, meaning he has not played a single minute for Chelsea’s first team this season.
With the January transfer window approaching, several rumours have emerged regarding the French defender’s future. One club showing strong interest is AC Milan. The Italian side are keen to sign Disasi on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to buy in the summer. Milan are looking for an experienced central defender, and they believe Disasi’s qualities could significantly strengthen their squad.
The player’s agent has already begun working on negotiations, with the clear objective of facilitating a move to AC Milan. It is worth noting that the relationship between the two clubs is very strong, with the teams having completed several transfers in the past. Milan currently has multiple former Chelsea players in their squad, including Tomori, Loftus-Cheek, and Pulisic. Now, it remains to be seen whether Disasi will become the latest former Chelsea player to continue his career in Italy with Milan.
