Chelsea's Predicted Lineup for Saturday's West Ham Clash cover image

Chelsea eyes Champions League boost as they face a resurgent West Ham. Expect goals and Premier League drama at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea secured a spot in the Champions League round of 16 on Wednesday night, which should give them momentum in the Premier League. The Blues head into this matchweek in fifth place, just one point behind fourth-place Manchester United.

Liam Rosenior has had an effective role since taking over for Enzo Maresca at the start of the month. The only setback in his brief tenure so far was a loss to Arsenal in the EFL Cup semifinal. While the second leg is next week, Rosenior's side must focus on defeating West Ham this weekend.

The Hammers are in a difficult season, spending most of it in the relegation zone. Nuno Espirito Santo's team now appears to be gaining momentum in the league, having won consecutive matches.

Despite this improvement, West Ham remains five points behind Nottingham Forest and must continue to add points to avoid relegation. After enjoying a full week of rest between matches, the visitors should be confident of getting a good result at Stamford Bridge.

Dario Essugo recently suffered a strange training injury and faces more than a month out. At the same time, Tosin Adarabioyo (hamstring), Levi Colwill (knee), Romeo Lavia (thigh), and Mykhailo Mudryk (suspended) remain unavailable for the match.

Chelsea's predicted lineup vs. West Ham: Sanchez, James, Chalobah, Badiashile, Cucurella, Santos, Caicedo, Estevao, Fernandez, Neto, Pedro.

Chelsea has one of the best attacks in the division. They have scored 39 league goals this season. Only Arsenal and the two Manchester clubs have scored more. The Blues average 1.70 goals scored and 1.09 goals conceded per match.

The hosts have scored in 21 of their 23 matches in this competition, meaning they are very likely to find the net on Saturday. In 14 of their 23 league matches featured over two goals, equating to 61% of their games.

West Ham visits Stamford Bridge, averaging one goal per match as the away team this season and conceding 1.73 goals per match. They have been involved in more matches with over 2.5 goals than any other club, reaching that total in 16 games.

Historical data also supports a high-scoring encounter, as each of their last five head-to-head meetings produced at least three goals.
