Liam Rosenior prepares for crucial player conversations, hinting at resolutions for Sterling and Disasi's futures in the coming days.

The situation at Chelsea now looks to be under control, with new manager Liam Rosenior seeming to have settled in pretty quickly as the Blues took on Arsenal in the first leg of the EFL Cup semifinals at Stamford Bridge yesterday.

With their managerial problems sorted out for the time being, the Blues' management will look to turn their attention to the ongoing winter transfer window to reinforce Rosenior's squad according to his needs.

Chelsea have been linked with a number of players since the end of 2025; unfortunately, none of them have materialized into serious talks. That doesn't seem to be a matter of concern for Rosenior, as the Blues' boss looks quite pleased with the talent he has at his disposal.

The new manager would hope his best players are fit throughout the season, as Chelsea are currently competing in four competitions and would need all the firepower to fight for them all. Rosenior is looking to address a long-standing issue at the club in order to decide on the future.

Rosenior looks to address the Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi issue

The Englishman recently talked about Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi during a presser (h/t Mirror), saying, "I will have conversations with them. We're in January, as you know. Raheem's had an outstanding career. I've got huge respect for him. Axel is someone I've really, really liked as a player for a long time.

"Honestly, I have to have a conversation with them. I have to have a conversation with the club. I'm being genuinely honest. I literally have got to work through a list of priorities. I will do in the next few days."

This would definitely send a positive signal for the two outcasts who were sidelined by former manager Enzo Maresca throughout the season. Although the fact that both Sterling and Disasi have been unable to perform at the highest level since coming in cannot be completely overlooked.

Sterling was brought in from Manchester City for a fee of £47.5 million after scoring 13 goals and providing six assists for the Cityzens in the 2021-22 season. But since coming to Stamford Bridge, the 31-year-old has failed to live up to his price tag and was loaned out to the Gunners, where his situation didn't change much, only to return to the Blues and be exiled by Maresca.

With the January transfer window open, Rosenior will look to address the issue with utmost importance to understand their situation and reach a decision before the window closes.
