The Blues' New year started with the premature departure of Enzo Maresca but the club management was quick to find his replacement in the form of the former FC Stratsbourg manager and are now looking at available options in order to bolster Rosenior's squad.
The Chels have been linked with quite a few youngsters since the start of the transfer window as midfielders Darryl Bakola, James McAtee and Sandro Tonali are being viewed as potential candidates for a move to the Stamford Bridge.
As of recent, rumours regarding the transfer of another star midfielder is making the rounds as Spanish outlet Fichajes (h/t London World) reports that the Blues are lining up an audacious £104 million bid for Real Madrid's Federico Valverde!
According to the report Chelsea could make a move for the versatile player as early as this month with the January transfer window wide open and BlueCo. would love to bring in Valverde as a perfect welcome for Rosenior before February 2.
The Uruguayan international has been a pivotal part of Madrid's success in the recent years, with his eye soothing assist in the Champions league final against Liverpool standing as a small testament of his abilities as a world class player.
Since his transfer to Los Blancos in 2016, Valverde made 348 appearances for the senior side after being part of Real Madrid Castilla initially. He has been an integral part of every Madrid manager till date due to his ability to play in almost every position in the outfield with the utmost dedication possible.
Although his versatility could also be a reason for his departure from the European giants as reported earlier by the Spanish media, Valverde has been unhappy with his position being shifted to right back for the past couple of seasons as both Carlo Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso have used him in a more defensive role whenever needed.
With the departure of Alonso from Real, things could change for the 27-year-old at the Spanish capital and the rumours of Chelsea's intentions to sign the star midfielder this January might seem like a distant dream given the fact that transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano has already stated the Vinicius Junior rumours as a probable hoax as he reported no such talks to have taken place and the current Valverde links could likely turn out to be something similar.
