On Wednesday evening, Chelsea were embarrassingly knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by defending champions PSG, with a 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge on the night, and 8-2 on aggregate.
It could have been the club's last game in the competition for a while, with a top 5 finish firmly in the balance heading into the final eight games of the Premier League season.
There have been plenty of questions raised over the project in SW6. There is a photo from last night that sums it all up. Both teams were making a sub at the same time in the second half. Chelsea were bringing on Liam Delap, and the visitors were bringing on Desire Doue.
As a result, people have wondered how sick and tired some players at the club must be. This can't be what they signed up for when they were signed over the last few years.
This includes midfielder Enzo Fernandez, who, after the game, made some comments that have been a huge talking point. When asked by ESPN Argentina if he could guarantee he will stay, the 24-year-old said: "I don't know - there are eight (league) games left and the FA Cup. There's the World Cup, and then we'll see."
Well, not ideal for the vice captain - who wore the armband last night - to be saying that. Not the best look on him. However, you can understand why he seems to be fed up.
The thing is, though, he has a contract all the way up until 2032. Another six years. A deal that nobody forced him to sign. It was not against his will. He consciously signed that contract.
Despite this long term deal, it was reported back in January that Fernandez wants a new contract at the club. This doesn't marry up with his interview last night, where it appears he is more interested in a move away.
That said, in the above report, it is implied that he feels he merits a bigger wage. So, perhaps that could be in his thinking for a move away. To get better terms away from SW6.
There have been links with Real Madrid in the past, and we know a lot of South Americans dream of playing for them or Barcelona. Is he of the requisite quality, though? He has not been blameless in the poor results this season. But, let's see.
