Chelsea eyes a €60 million-rated goalkeeper, Sunderland's highly-rated young player, as a potential Robert Sanchez replacement.

Chelsea is expected to continue being one of the standout players in the transfer market. A team that, without a doubt, has opened its checkbook to strengthen the options within its project. Hence, twists and turns lie ahead regarding its planning for the upcoming campaign.

Under the excellent orchestral direction of Liam Rosenior, who has enthusiastically taken the reins of the newly crowned Club World Cup champion. In relation to its roadmap for the next summer transfer window, it seems the club has set a target.

Immersed in the search for a fully reliable replacement for Robert Sanchez, who alternates between brilliance and inconsistency, the team is keeping tabs on the level of Robin Roefs, 23. According to journalist Alan Nixon, Stamford Bridge has been captivated by the Sunderland goalkeeper's command of his area.

His contract extends until 2030, meaning the London club will have to flex its financial muscle to secure his signing. The reason is that the Black Cats have valued their goalkeeper at the not-insignificant figure of €60 million, so the Blues now know the price to pay for the Dutchman.

The 23-year-old Dutch goalkeeper has established himself as an immovable piece in his team's scheme during this 2025/26 season. He stands out especially for his physical stature and reflexes, which have allowed him to lead several save statistics in the championship.

His style of play is not limited to stopping shots on goal; he is also recognized for his ability to act as a sweeper-keeper, actively participating in ball distribution and facilitating a clean buildup from the defensive zone.

Due to his consistent performance, he has attracted the interest of clubs with greater aspirations, and he has been the subject of constant rumors in the sports press linking him with a possible transfer to institutions with larger budgets in the next summer transfer window.

Despite the pressure that comes with playing in one of the most competitive leagues in the world, the goalkeeper has maintained a professional profile, focusing on his club's defensive stability and his progression through the youth ranks and into recent call-ups for the Netherlands national team.
