Chelsea’s search for stability continues, and the answer may lie in Serie A. With doubts surrounding Robert Sanchez and a new coach in charge, the Blues are ready to spend big on Roma’s in-form goalkeeper to secure their future between the posts.

Chelsea has had its ups and downs this season so far, combining great victories, such as the one in the Champions League against Barcelona at Stamford Bridge, with disappointing draws or losses against weaker teams.

These difficulties and instability has lead the club to change the coach from Maresca to Rosenior. One key element of the team that has been criticized a lot by the fans and analysts has been the keeper, Robert Sanchez.

The Spanish keeper has been at Chelsea since 2023, where he was transferred from Brighton. Sanchez has been very unstable with his performances, combining great saves and heavy mistakes that have led to Chelsea losing important points and also matches.

During these 2 and a half years, rumors have been circulated in every transfer market session for new keepers coming to Stamford Bridge and replacing Sanchez, but until now, nothing has changed. With the arrival of the new coach, things seem to have changed.

Last summer, Chelsea was interested in signing Maignan from Milan, but the deal didn’t go through. The summer is approaching again, and Chelsea has its eyes again on Serie A to find a new keeper, but this time they are interested in signing another keeper, not Maignan.

The Blues are interested in signing the keeper of Roma, Mile Svilar. The 26-year-old goalkeeper has been one of the best keepers not only in Italy but also in Europe in the last 2 years. He has been a key element of Roma and has helped the team a lot with his saves.

To get the Serbian goalkeeper, the club of Stamford Bridge is ready to pay a high fee of around 60-65 million euros, and to secure for a lot of years one of the most promising and talented goalkeepers in European football.
