Jordan 0-2 Argentina Half Time Thoughts: Lo Celso Freekick Puts Argentina Ahead

With the first half of Jordan's final game of the 2026 World Cup coming to a close, the Arabian side find themselves 2-0 down to reigning world champions Argentina after a strong showing from the much-changed side.

Giovanni Lo Celso found the net early on, but his effort was quickly wiped off for offside. It would have been a great start for the man making his first ever World Cup appearance.

He still got his moment after a controversial free kick was awarded. Lo Celso stepped up and wrapped his effort to the keeper's side as Yazeed Abulaila moved across, leaving the far post empty.

The Argentinian advantage was quickly doubled after Nizar Al Rashdan's swinging boot caught Marcos Senesi in the box, handing Argentina a penalty which Lautaro Martinez calmly converted.

Both sides' fates in Group J has already been confirmed. Jordan will look to go out with an impressive second half display, but the quality of a rotated Argentina side has proven to be too much.
