Phil Parkinson thinks that Wrexham's supporters can look forward to another memorable evening tonight under the lights at the STōK Cae Ras when Birmingham City come to North Wales for one of the Championship's most highly anticipated matches of the early season.

The Dragons still have to wait for their first league win of the season after starting the campaign with draws against Cardiff City and Watford, while Birmingham are in the same situation having drawn their first two Championship matches before suffering a severe Carabao Cup loss to Brentford in midweek.

Before the game, Parkinson admitted that Birmingham have a high level of quality but thinks the match will once again show how far Wrexham have progressed in recent years.

The manager of Wrexham anticipates that the match against Chris Davies' team will be a difficult one but is looking forward to yet another high-profile game in front of a full home crowd.

“It’s going to be another interesting game.”

Parkinson pointed out the strengths of Birmingham's team, stating that they were among a number of clubs expected to compete at the top of the division. On the other hand, he also said that Wrexham have demonstrated in the recent seasons that they are able to compete with anyone when they are at their best.

The manager cited the atmosphere created at the STōK Cae Ras as a major factor and thinks that home support will once again be of a crucial role as Wrexham aim to win their first Championship match of the season.

Even though there is pressure when another person is competing for promotion, Parkinson states that his team enjoys such situations. Because the Dragons have grown used to playing important matches during their impressive progress through the divisions, the manager believes the players are up to the challenge.

Wrexham have had a full week to prepare for the contest after their early Carabao Cup exit, while Birmingham arrive having played on Tuesday night. Parkinson was careful not to place too much emphasis on that factor but admitted any additional recovery time can be beneficial during a demanding Championship campaign.

The manager from Wrexham also highlighted the competitive nature of the Championship, noting that each game presents a different challenge and that small margins often decide the outcome.

“We know the level of the division.” Parkinson said, “Every game is a challenge.”

The manager has made it clear to his players that they should seize the opportunity, match Birmingham's intensity, and use the energy of the home crowd to gain an advantage.

“The supporters will play a huge part.”

The match now known as the "Hollywood Derby" is expected to draw a full-capacity crowd, and both teams have high expectations as the campaign gets under way.

As Parkinson indicated, Wrexham are looking forward to facing another tough test, one that they are keen to accept.
