Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson believes his side are prepared for Saturday's Championship trip to Derby County, with the Reds looking to build on their impressive victory over Southampton before the international break.

Wrexham AFC manager Phil Parkinson has challenged his players to maintain their momentum when they return to Championship action against Derby County at Pride Park on Saturday, October 10.

Ahead of the fixture, Parkinson emphasised the need to build on Wrexham's dramatic 2-1 win over Southampton before the extended international break, a much-needed response after their disappointing 6-0 defeat to West Ham United.

The Southampton victory was particularly important after a difficult start to the season. Wrexham had collected ten points from their opening eight Championship matches, leaving Parkinson's side looking for greater consistency after narrowly missing out on the play-offs last season.

The victory over Southampton also demonstrated the resilience that has become a defining characteristic of Parkinson's tenure. Having suffered a heavy defeat at West Ham, Wrexham produced a determined performance against the Saints, with a late own goal securing all three points.
