Wrexham’s ability to score consistently at the Racecourse provides an encouraging statistic ahead of Tuesday’s Championship meeting with West Bromwich Albion.
Wrexham's strong scoring record at the Racecourse is a good sign ahead of their Championship game on Tuesday against West Bromwich Albion.
In all competitions, the Red Dragons have scored in 37 of their most recent 38 home games, and Phil Parkinson's team have also scored in their last 13 home games.
Only Millwall has prevented Wrexham from scoring at the Racecourse, and they won 2–0 in February.
These figures illustrate Wrexham's consistent attacking performance at home; they don't show how many opportunities the team generates, how effectively they convert them, or how often their goals lead to wins.
Wrexham's record means visiting teams must be prepared to defend for the entire game, and it also helps the home side stay confident even if they don't score early. Yet the statistic refers to different competitions and opponents; while it indicates Wrexham's ability to score, it can't predict what will happen on Tuesday.
Whether a goal is scored will still be the deciding factor: in one game, a single goal might be enough to secure a win thanks to a well-organised defence; in another, it might only secure a draw or reduce the deficit.
The match on Tuesday provides the Parkinson's team with another chance of turning their strong record in terms of scoring into three points. The record should boost Wrexham's confidence, but West Brom still provide a tough test even following a poor start to the Championship season.
The league is one of the toughest in the world, unrelenting, and one where any team can be each other. Parkinson will be happy to know the club likes to convert at home, but he needs three points on board more than simply being able to score.
Wrexham enter Tuesday’s fixture 15th in the Championship with 11 points from nine matches. Phil Parkinson’s side have recorded two wins, five draws and two defeats, scoring ten goals and conceding thirteen.
West Brom arrive ninth with 14 points from nine Championship fixtures, having won four, drawn two and lost three. James Morrison’s side have scored ten goals and conceded nine, leaving them three points ahead of Wrexham.
