Wrexham AFC have five first-team players heading away on international duty, with Wales, Jamaica, Burkina Faso and Gabon represented during the September and October international break.
Wrexham AFC will have five first-team players representing their countries during the extended September and October international break, with Phil Parkinson’s squad represented across four different senior national teams.
Wrexham will not return to league action until their trip to Derby County on October 10.
Danny Ward and Kieffer Moore will both join up with Wales after being selected by Craig Bellamy.
Wrexham had originally been set to provide three members of the Wales squad, but Nathan Broadhead has been forced to withdraw after suffering a thigh injury.
Ward and Moore remain involved as Wales prepare for a demanding UEFA Nations League schedule featuring fixtures against Portugal, Denmark and Norway.
Moore heads into the international break in positive form after finding the net during Wrexham’s 2-1 Championship victory over Southampton.
Wrexham’s representation extends well beyond Wales, with Bailey Cadamarteri receiving another senior call-up from Jamaica.
The 21-year-old striker has been named in the Reggae Boyz squad for their CONCACAF Nations League campaign. Jamaica are scheduled to face Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador during a busy international period.
Cadamarteri has found first-team opportunities limited at Wrexham in the opening weeks of the season, but international duty gives the young forward another chance to gain valuable senior minutes.
Burkina Faso has selected Issa Kaboré as the Stallions begin their qualification campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Burkina Faso face Benin on September 25 before meeting the Central African Republic three days later. Kaboré has established himself as an experienced member of his national side and remains an important option for both club and country.
Summer signing Jacques Ekomié will meanwhile represent Gabon. The left-sided defender has been included in the Panthers’ squad for their opening AFCON qualifiers against Morocco and Niger. His call-up follows an impressive start to life in North Wales after joining Wrexham from French club Angers.
Ekomié has quickly established himself in Parkinson’s side and has already contributed at both ends of the pitch during the opening weeks of the Championship campaign.
Wrexham-owned goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has also been selected by Nigeria, although he is currently on loan at Charlton Athletic and therefore separate from the five members of Parkinson’s current first-team group heading away.
