Ivan Perisic Receives Praise After Croatia Victory

PSV winger Ivan Perisic was widely praised in the Croatian media after playing a decisive role in Croatia’s 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic in the Nations League.

At 37, Perisic remains an important figure for Zlatko Dalic’s side and showed his influence once again in Saturday’s win. The PSV player provided the assist for Marco Pasalic’s winning goal while also contributing defensively.

Jutarnji highlighted Perisic’s all-round display, writing: “An assist for the winning goal, quite active in defense, and then brought the crucial action forward.”

Germanijak was even more emphatic in its assessment.

It also praised the PSV player’s versatility, noting that he can operate on either flank, as a winger or defender, depending on what the team requires.

Vecernji also singled out Perisic alongside Croatia captain Luka Modric, who scored the opening goal. The outlet pointed to the pair’s continued performances at the highest level despite their age.

“Their constant performances at the highest level in world football bear witness to unprecedented professionalism and dedication to the national team,” Vecernji wrote. “Especially their showing on the biggest world stage, the World Cup, is impressive.”
