PSV International Update: Ivan Perisic Started at Left-Back as Ruben van Bommel Earned Praise

Perisic started at left-back, a different role from his usual position at PSV, while Kovar remained an unused substitute. Elsewhere, Ayoni Santos made a late appearance for Cape Verde in their 3-1 defeat to Mali. Esmir Bajraktarevic played the full 90 minutes in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s goalless draw with Poland, while Dennis Man scored for Romania in a 2-1 loss to Sweden.

Mauro Junior made his Brazil debut earlier in the week, while Ruben van Bommel continues to attract attention after his decisive assist for the Netherlands against Germany.

BILD, Sky Sport Germany and Kicker have all praised the PSV winger’s development and potential, with Kicker highlighting his promising future at both club and international level.

The Netherlands are back in action on Sunday against Serbia in Belgrade.
