A new edition of El Clasico sees Real Madrid visit Camp Nou at a complicated point in the season with one mission: ruin Barcelona’s party.
This Sunday, a new edition of El Clasico will take place, corresponding to matchday 35 of La Liga. Both teams currently have very different realities, and we are not referring specifically to the points difference but to the feelings each conveys.
It is no surprise to anyone that Real Madrid arrives with a completely broken locker room, a ship that is practically sinking, but one that wants to ruin Barcelona’s party of being crowned at home. And on the other side, a powerful Barcelona that has a unique opportunity to land the final blow to its biggest rival and celebrate the championship if they tie or win.
Injuries and doubts for the match:
Real Madrid: Federico Valverde (head), Rodrygo (knee), Arda Guler (hamstring), Eder Militao (hamstring), Dani Carvajal (foot), and Ferland Mendy (thigh).
Barcelona: Lamine Yamal (hamstring).
Real Madrid’s possible lineup for the match (4-2-3-1)
GK: Thibaut Courtois – Returns to the team’s goal after his injury in March; he is always a symbol of security.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – Continues his personal fight to be called up to the World Cup; he will take advantage of every minute.
CB: Antonio Rudiger – Defender who does not hesitate to crash into opponents, rough but effective.
CB: Dean Huijsen – The Spanish defender returns to the starting lineup after Militao’s absence. He wants to contribute both defensively and offensively.
LB: Fran Garcia – A fast player who will take advantage of the width of the flanks to reach the opponent’s area.
MF: Eduardo Camavinga – After weeks of heavy criticism, he wants to clear his name and help the team get the win at Camp Nou.
MF: Aurelien Tchouameni – In the eye of the storm after what happened with Valverde, but undoubtedly one of the pillars of the midfield.
MF: Thiago Pitarch – He always looks to break free from opponents and ask for the ball to make transitions, an academy player who has the coach’s full confidence.
AM: Jude Bellingham – He needs to return to last season’s level, but he still has flashes of supreme quality.
FW: Vinicius Jr. – One of Madrid’s most lethal weapons, he has joga bonito in his blood and scores goals in abundance.
FW: Kylian Mbappe – Probably the best current footballer, but with attitudes that do not convince Madrid fans, he needs to lead his team to titles.
Barcelona’s possible lineup for the match (4-2-3-1)
GK: Joan Garcia – For many, the best Spanish goalkeeper at the moment.
RB: Jules Kounde – An immovable starter, he contributes both on defense and attack.
CB: Pau Cubarsi – One of La Masia’s recent jewels, the 19-year-old defender is already an undisputed starter and is looking for his place on the Spanish national team.
CB: Gerard Martin – A defender who likes to come out fast but controlled, no long balls.
LB: Joao Cancelo – Like Jules, a defender who also contributes a lot to the attack and is very difficult to take the ball from.
MF: Eric Garcia – Naturally a defender, but he can easily play further forward and support in playmaking.
MF: Pedri – The midfield boss, he always finds an available teammate, and his passes are precise.
AM: Marcus Rashford – When he finds space, he is a lethal forward.
AM: Gavi – A very competitive player, Pedri’s perfect partner.
AM: Fermin Lopez – Without a doubt living his best moment, a gritty player with goals.
FW: Robert Lewandowski – The team’s veteran, he never tires of scoring goals and wants to be a champion with the club.
