Brazilian football icon Alexandre Pato spoke about Endrick's current situation at Real Madrid, saying the young forward should go out on loan to another team in search of minutes.
Endrick's situation at Real Madrid is far from simple. He returned this summer with the dream of earning a starting position on the team - or at least fighting for it - but the situation is becoming too complicated with Carlos Espi's arrival. It turns out the ex-Levante player has performed well despite the few minutes he has accumulated as a merengue.
Jose Mourinho used him as a spark in the match against Espanyol, when he came on in the 80th minute with the match tied 1-1. It was then that, in the 90th minute, he scored the goal that would mean victory for the white team, earning the coach's full confidence and relegating Endrick practically to being the team's third forward. Something that is beginning to bother the Brazilian, who would already be questioning whether it would be worth leaving in the winter again.
Given this, the iconic Brazilian footballer, Alexandre Pato, spoke about the situation his compatriot is living through at the Festival dello Sport. "Endrick, I think he should go out on loan, because at Madrid it is going to be complicated for him to play. Then that would have to be seen with Florentino and also with Mourinho, to see what his options are. I think players must understand that they are one part of football.
But the one who always commands will be the team president. You should never think you are bigger than the club, so I do not know what his attitude will be there. But I think he should go to Madrid even to talk and, in addition, always be involved in the decisions. He cannot let his agents always decide about his life. So yes, I think he should look for another team," he mentioned.
Now, the decision will have to be made by the young forward, who, during the 2025 winter market, left on loan to Lyon due to the same situation: looking for minutes he was not getting at Madrid. In France, he had a brief but powerful spell, registering eight goals and 7 assists in 21 matches. Something that led him to "fall in love with football again," according to his own words, since in the Spanish capital he did not have the opportunity to play the sport he loves so much.
Currently, after returning to the Bernabeu with the clear intention of earning the starting role - with the confidence he had recovered at Lyon -, the same situation from last year seems to have caught up with him again, being an unfortunate deja vu for the Brazilian who has to decide in the coming weeks whether he will fight for the position now against Kylian Mbappe and Carlos Espi, or whether he will look to be the undisputed starter on another team.
