The Higher Sports Council (CSD) is studying whether to take action against LaLiga president Javier Tebas over his comments comparing Real Madrid to the N*zis.

The Higher Sports Council (CSD) is studying the power to act on its own initiative against Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga and vice president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), who, on Friday, compared Real Madrid TV to the propaganda mechanisms of the N*zis through his social media.

This is because, according to Tebas, the merengues' official communication channel offers content in which the club appears "always as a victim" and "tells what feeds the grievance and hides the context that would allow it to be verified."

"Real Madrid's leadership directs an orchestra of loudspeakers, and Real Madrid TV leads the singing. Its sheet music is always the same: selecting the plays that interest, repeating the grievance, feeding suspicion, and pointing out the enemies.

That method recalls propaganda mechanisms exploited by Goebbels, minister of Propaganda of N*zi Germany: systematic repetition, construction of an enemy, and subordination of facts to the narrative. The comparison is with those propaganda techniques, not with an ideology nor, of course, with the Madridista fanbase," Tebas said.

Shortly after, Real Madrid issued a statement in which, in general terms, it noted the club's annoyance with the comparisons made by Tebas, who, being president of LaLiga and vice president of the RFEF, should omit this kind of behavior, mentioning that it is "a true scourge for Spanish football" and demanding his "immediate resignation."

"It is absolutely intolerable and of extraordinary seriousness that whoever occupies two positions of maximum responsibility in Spanish football resorts to a comparison with the propaganda methods of the N*zi regime," according to what was explained in a statement in which it assures that "the clarification that he is not referring to N*zi ideology does not attenuate its deeply offensive, morally repugnant and institutionally unworthy character," the club's statement mentions.

Real Madrid will face Sevilla this Sunday at the Bernabeu, which will be the last league match prior to the Clasico on Oct. 25. Let's hope that this issue with Tebas does not affect the concentration of the coach and the players, since the victory is obligatory. You play at home against your closest pursuer in the overall table; in addition, it is of vital importance to arrive at the Camp Nou maintaining only six points of distance from the blaugranas.

Therefore, in the hypothetical case of beating Barcelona, the difference would only be three points, motivating the merengues to face what remains of the season. Otherwise, the gap would expand to nine points, something that would begin to be too complicated to come back from.
