Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga reacts after being left off France's 2026 World Cup roster.
The future of Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has been uncertain, and now he faces the emotional burden of being unable to play for the French national team.
If a while ago Camavinga seemed emotionally down, now he will seem even more so.
Until a few days ago, there was still uncertainty whether he would be called up to play for the France national team in the 2026 World Cup.
In fact, several media outlets had already predicted that Camavinga did not have many opportunities to qualify for Didier Deschamps' list, and on Thursday, it was confirmed.
The 23-year-old player reacted to the news in an Instagram story, where he opened up about how he feels.
In it, Camavinga admitted to feeling hurt by the news but said he understands that soccer is like that, and he also offered words to his national team teammates.
"Not the news I was hoping for, but that’s football. Of course it hurts, especially knowing how much it means to wear this shirt. I’ll be supporting and cheering the team from home every step of the way."
Eduardo Camavinga is also committed to continuing to improve and coming back stronger in hopes of being on the roster again.
"I'll keep working, keep fighting, and come back stronger."
When questioned about why he was not called up, Deschamps spoke on the TF1 news program.
"He is coming off a difficult season, in which he has played less due to injuries. He is still young. I have decisions to make, and a list structure. But I can imagine his disappointment tonight," the France national team coach opened up.
Sadly for him, he has not been at his best, as he has been sidelined by Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa due to poor form and injuries affecting the Frenchman.
And although some sources affirm that the club has no problem with him, and that he just needs to prove what he is capable of, others affirm that Real Madrid is actually preparing to transfer him in the summer transfer window.
In fact, one of the most important interested parties in Camavinga is Paris Saint-Germain, but of course, nothing is confirmed yet.
Camavinga is young and has the ability to recover, so for now, his entourage affirms that he does not wish to leave the club. He is happy in the Spanish capital because playing for Real Madrid is his dream.
