Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano has given confirmation on the futures of Real Madrid Defenders, Fran Garcia and Raul Asencio.
With the summer transfer window still in it's initial phases, Real Madrid are looking to a few more names to their list of new signings during the next few months.
The appointment of Jose Mourinho as Los Blancos' new manager has seen their defense getting more priority than the other areas so far as they have already announced the arrivals of Ibrahima Konate and Marc Cucurella, with Denzel Dumfries waiting for his turn.
Last week, the Whites renewed the contract of Antonio Rudiger for another year as Mourinho will reportedly like to have the German center-back for at least another campaign. Though his role under the new manager is yet to be revealed.
Now, Madrid is taking their time to review some of their other defensive options, as Fabrizio Romano recently provided confirmation on the departures of Fran Garcia and Raul Asencio this summer.
Los Blancos are seemingly looking to clean house before going for further summer recruits and the club management along with the Portuguese manager has been assessing the situation for some time.
Garcia and Asencio are looking to be the first in line of a few more players who are probably looking at an exit from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Both the left-back and the center-back saw minimal playing time during the previous campaign, especially Garcia, who made a total of only 23 appearances during the previous campaign, mostly off the bench.
Whereas, Asencio made a total of 34 appearances while filling up for an injured Eder Militao but the Spaniard seemingly failed to navigate his way from the controversies during the previous campaign.
As a result, Mourinho has made his feelings known regarding the defensive duo and seemingly both Garcia and Asencio are not a part of the Portuguese's plans for the new campaign.
Both the defenders are apparently La Fabricia graduates, as Fran Garcia moved out to Rayo Vallecano in order to get more minutes and seeing his progress there, Los Blancos decided to activate the buy-back clause in his contract in 2023.
Despite his homecoming, the left-back's tenure at his boyhood club seems to be over as of now. As for Asencio, this will be the 23-year-old's first transfer away from Real Madrid and whether it would be a loan move or a permanent transfer, is yet to be disclosed.
But as it stands, Asencio and Garcia wouldn't be part of Los Blancos' for the next campaign and it could turn out be the perfect choice for both the club and the players as look to take their chances elsewhere as the Whites gear up for yet another intensive campaign.
