Real Madrid is set to receive a €15 million payout from the transfer of a former player to AC Milan, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Real Madrid academy has not only provided the club with recent first-team players like Raul Asencio, Gonzalo Garcia, Fran Garcia, Thiago Pitarch, and numerous others, but has also contributed significantly financially.

During the ongoing summer transfer window, Los Blancos made significant profits from the transfer of their academy graduates.

Nico Paz and Victor Munoz, two of Los Merengues' brightest La Fabrica products, have already handed the Whites around €80 million in transfer fees this summer.

Los Blancos activated Paz's €9 million buy-back clause and brought him back, only to let him depart for a €60 million transfer fee, including another €80 million buy-back clause in the new deal for the Argentine youngster.

While Munoz's transfer from Osasuna to Liverpool saw the Merengues land €20 million in their treasury, as they had a 50% sell-on clause in his contract.

Now, as per Fabrizio Romano, Los Blancos are set to receive another €15 million from the transfer of Mario Gila from Lazio to AC Milan.

According to reports, both Serie A sides have agreed verbally to the transfer of the center-back on a five-year deal.

The Spanish defender was brought in from Espanyol back in 2018 as he gradually climbed the ranks and even became one of the captains in Raul's Real Madrid Castilla side.

Gila even made two senior appearances for Los Blancos during the 2021-22 campaign before leaving the club for Italy, when Lazio signed him for around €6 million, with Los Blancos inserting a 50% sell-on clause in the center-back's contract.

Gila's ability with the ball at his feet stands out alongside his solid defensive attributes, making him one of the most sought-after defenders in Serie A.

Unfortunately, the 25-year-old failed to make his mark in the Spanish capital, resulting in his early departure four years ago.

Although just like Paz and Munoz, Gila has now become a part of the brilliant setup at Los Blancos, who didn't make it into the first team, but has now contributed financially towards the club's progress.

Two decades earlier, Los Blancos struggled to keep pace with Barcelona's progress in youth development, but now there is no hesitation in saying that the Whites currently have one of the best academies in the world, with loads of highly talented youngsters coming through the ranks every year.
