Real Madrid president Florentino Perez promises new stars will arrive if he is re-elected.

On Monday of this week, Real Madrid's president, Florentino Perez, met with the Real Madrid Members' Association, during which he spoke about various topics related to his candidacy.

Last month, the 79-year-old president called new elections for the presidency of the white club, and although his decision would cost the club time and money, he went ahead.

Lately, the president has been heavily criticized for the club's bad streak and for his controversial responses at press conferences.

But Florentino apparently remains the members' favorite, even though his current election opponent, Enrique Riquelme, remains hopeful of being the one to bring change to Real Madrid.

Speaking to the hundreds of Madridistas who attended the event, Florentino confirmed that, if once again elected as president, new stars will arrive to join Los Blancos for this new season.

"We know what reinforcements we need, and they will be here next season, wearing the Real Madrid jersey. Since I arrived at the club's presidency, I have always seen the excited faces of Madridistas all over the world, and that excitement with me will never be lost. The best will always play here, I have no doubt."

Florentino also reaffirmed his commitment and responsibility to continue making history and attracting success for the club, making it clear that he will never privatize Real Madrid, as some have claimed.

The Spaniard recognized that, although several clubs close to them have been privatized, while he is in charge, that will never happen, and the club will always be in the hands of the members, with elections every four years.

Letting off steam against his opponent, Florentino lashed out against him, assuring that Riquelme and his team took advantage of the fact that the season was not what was expected to try to take control and favoritism, reaffirming again that they are the ones responsible for tarnishing his name and that of Real Madrid through a hate campaign from the shadows.

"You cannot always win everything; it seems like a sin to finish second. They have set in motion an operation in the shadows with journalists and the media. They do not want Madrid. They seek to destabilize it."

And although we do not yet know who the players would be who would arrive if the Spaniard remains president of Real Madrid, Florentino seems very confident that, under his mandate, he will continue to create a home for great talents.

But Florentino is not the only one who has promised to sign great talents, as Enrique Riquelme has also left clues about who his signings would be if he wins the presidency.

A week ago, the Spanish businessman said he already had two signings lined up: a coach and, apparently, a Spanish player.

Speaking on the program 'Tiempo de Juego' and in words collected by Mundo Deportivo, Riquelme on Sunday revealed the name of an independent player he plans to announce next Wednesday, Manchester City FC midfielder, Rodri.

"If I am president, a player like Rodri will play for Real Madrid," he indicated.
