Ahead of the forthcoming international break - the last one - until March of 2027 - we take a look at how the next week to ten days looks for each Real Madrid player representing their nation.
After Real Madrid play Valencia this weekend, the final international break of 2026 will be upon us.
Unlike the previous extended break, this will be back to the regular schedule for international breaks, that will take up just one weekend of the club calendar, and then back to normal all the way until the end of March.
So, without further ado, let’s look at how the international break will look for each Los Blancos star representing their respective nations.
To begin with, despite a lack of game time at Real Madrid, Trent Alexander-Arnold is in the England squad for their UEFA Nations League clashes with Luka Modric’s Croatia (H) and Spain (A) on the 12th and 15th at 20:45 CET. As always, Jude Bellingham is also in the squad, alongside his younger brother Jobe.
This is a good segway to Dean Huijsen and Marc Cucurella being called up to the Spain squad. Aside from their clash with England, they also play Czechia away, also on the 12th at 20:45.
Elsewhere in the backline, Denzel Dumfries is in the Netherland squad for their Nations League ties at home to Greece and away to Germany on the 13th and 16th respectively, both at 20:45.
Heading into the midfield, though now also sort of remaining at right-back, Federico Valverde is in Diego Forlan’s Uruguay squad for friendlies against Argentina and the Dominician Republic on the 14th and 18th at 00:00 and 00:30 respectively.
Meanwhile, Bernardo Silva is in the first Portugal squad since Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo announced his retirement from international football, for their Nations League games against Denmark and Wales on the 14th and 17th respectively at 20:45.
Brahim Diaz has been named in the Morocco squad for their AFCON qualifying double header against Niger on the 11th and 15th at 21:00. Two wins would be enough to secure their qualification.
Elsewhere in Africa, Yan Diomande has been called up by the Ivory Coast for their own double header with Gambia on the 12th and 17th at 17:00. Likewise, two wins would secure their place at the tournament next summer.
Arda Guler has been named in the Turkey squad for their Nations League fixtures against Belgium on the 12th at 18:00, and France on the 15th at 20:45.
In the same group. Kylian Mbappe has been called up by Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane for France's games against Italy and Turkey. The clash with Italy takes place on the 12th at 20:45, then the aforementioned game against Guler's side. Eduardo Camavinga retains his place in the squad, whilst Aurelien Tchouameni is called up for the first time under Zidane.
Finally, Vinicius is in the Brazil squad named by former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti for their friendlies with Japan (11:15) and Singapore (TBC) on the 14th and 17th respectively. Hopefully he can play his way into some kind of form ahead of his domestic return. Endrick is also included.
