Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho seems dissatisfied with the player's recent activities.
Real Madrid will look to keep their winning streak intact when they take on Real Betis at the Estadio de La Cartuja in La Liga tomorrow.
Two former Los Blancos stars, Fran Garcia and Dani Ceballos, will also be in Betis' squad tomorrow.
Garcia joined the Andalusian side during the early days of the summer transfer window, while Ceballos confirmed his move on deadline day.
Manager Jose Mourinho is certainly aware of the former Madrid duo's capabilities and the fact that Los Blancos' former players often come back to haunt them.
However, one of his own players, Raul Asencio, who was also heavily linked with a departure this summer, has recently caused concern for the Portuguese manager.
Spanish media was flooded with the Los Blancos star's conviction on a drunk driving offence yesterday, as the club decided to open an investigation regarding the defender's activities off the field.
Now, during a pre-match conference, Mourinho talked about Asencio's situation, saying (h/t Managing Madrid), "I spoke with him when I arrived. I did so because of things that happened in the past. Since I arrived, I haven’t spoken to him anymore,
"I don’t discuss situations outside of Valdebebas anymore. Because inside, he’s a true professional. When he was healthy, no one trained harder or better than him. Now that he’s injured, he’s the first to arrive and the last to leave. Extreme dedication,
"But a Real Madrid player is a Real Madrid player 24 hours a day. What you do off the field can damage your reputation and that of the club. I’m not happy. But hey, we all make mistakes. But when they pile up, it’s a different story."
The start to the campaign has certainly not gone how Asencio would have wanted, as he is now seemingly Los Blancos' fifth-choice centre-back following the addition of Ibrahima Konate and the contract renewal of Antonio Rudiger this summer.
But the Spanish defender had the opportunity to impress the new manager during the early days of the Whites' pre-season campaign, which unfortunately was hampered by an injury to his right leg.
The 23-year-old looked to be one of La Fabricia's finest talents to get inducted into the first team last campaign; even then, he reportedly got involved in an argument with former manager Alvaro Arbeloa during the final phases of last season.
Now, on top of everything else, his recent conviction has further dampened his chances of having a bright future at the club.
