Real Madrid is keeping tabs on its academy product, Jacobo Ramon, through a buyback clause valid until 2028, who, like Nico Paz, has become a key figure at Como in Serie A.
Jacobo Ramon has always had a kind of connection with scoring despite being a center back. He also showed this during his time at Real Madrid, when he scored the winning goal against Mallorca in the 95th minute in May 2025. "This is inexplicable; I have dreamed of this all my life. This shirt is until the end, and there is no better way to score my first goal than like this. It has been impressive, and also in the minute it was," Jacobo commented at that time.
That same summer in 2025, he left for Como for a figure of €2.5 million. Since then, the Real Madrid academy player has had a meteoric rise at the team coached by Cesc Fabregas. "No one thought Como's growth was going to be so fast. When I arrived, for example, I was an unknown. I came from the Spanish third division, from Real Madrid Castilla, but Cesc had a lot of faith and ambition in me. Thanks to him, I am the player I am today," Jacobo stated in Cronache di spogliatoio.
He became an undisputed starter, played 37 matches during the 2025/26 season, scored two goals, and was decisive in Como finishing fourth in Serie A and allowing them to qualify for the Champions League, in addition to reaching the Coppa Italia semifinals. "Three seasons ago I was playing in the Youth League with Nico Paz, and now we compete in Europe's top category," he recalled.
The white academy player made his debut as a scorer in the Champions League after heading in the 4-1 win against Manchester United. "I want to become one of the best. Sergio Ramos is my role model. I like scoring goals just like him," he admitted. And he is on the right track. His dominance in Serie A is indisputable. He is the second center back who completes the most passes (453 of 492). In addition, he is the third to win the most duels (43 of 63).
However, these figures are not a surprise to his coach, since Fabregas fully trusted him; that is why he brought him. "Jacobo Ramon's numbers do not surprise me; he was perfect for our style of play. The only doubt we had was about his ability to compete in Italian football, which is full of duels, and how he would adapt to such a physical game. He has improved a lot; he is a player of a different caliber."
Madrid holds a buyback clause valid until 2028, similar to Nico Paz's situation, but for now, Ramon's focus goes beyond the merengue team and Como itself, since the defender dreams of playing for Spain's senior national team. "It would be a dream. I work every day to achieve it, but we are talking about the strongest national team in the world, and the competition is enormous."
