Kylian Mbappe addresses Real Madrid's medical blunder, clarifying his fitness and communication surrounding the injury scare.

Kylian Mbappe spoke at a press conference ahead of France's friendly against Brazil, which takes place on Thursday, amid controversy over a serious error by Real Madrid's medical staff in assessing his knee. The French player wanted to downplay the issue and confirmed that he is perfectly fit to start.

"I have never been a man nor a player who regrets anything. I focus on the present and the near future. I am happy to feel good in both knees. In a way, I also owe it to my club. I am very happy to be here, in shape and in good health," Mbappe said, after it was revealed that Real Madrid's medical services assessed the wrong knee for his injury.

In fact, the Frenchman denied that the information published by journalist Daniel Riolo is true: "The information that they examined the wrong knee is not true. I may be indirectly responsible. When there is no communication, everyone takes advantage of the situation, that's how things are," said the Real Madrid player.

"We have always had fairly clear communication with Real Madrid. We are at an important moment in the season, and I wanted the team to win games. When I got injured in early January, I was not there; everyone thought I was the club's only solution, and that was not the case," he pointed out, thus assessing the great work that the entire white team did during his absence due to injury.

The forward sent a message to France coach Didier Deschamps after Alvaro Arbeloa left him on the bench in Real Madrid's last two matches. Despite that, he feels ready to play 90 minutes: "I am ready to play, to start. The coach will make the decisions," he argued.

"We are already thinking about the World Cup, we really want to be there. This match is exciting. But some players will not be there. It is too early to say, but it is nice to be here, to get together again," Mbappe commented about the match against Brazil, in which he will face his teammate Vinicius Jr. "It is important. Brazil is a very important country in football. It gives a first idea of what will happen this summer with the World Cup," he continued.

"Everyone in this room knows Brazil's history; it is the country that has inspired national team football the most. They have five stars on their shirt. It is always a challenge. They will be here for the final victory. It is a pleasure, a challenge. We are eager to play tomorrow. There will be lessons to learn. We have to give everything," he concluded.
