Kylian Mbappe's rivalry with Vinicius Jr. intensifies at Real Madrid, with pundits saying Jose Mourinho must choose between the two, and Yan Diomande emerging as Mbappe's preferred partner.
The rivalry between forwards Kylian Mbappe and left-winger Vinicius Jr. continues to make headlines, and now a pundit says Real Madrid will have to decide.
Currently, Real Madrid is in third place in the La Liga standings, and while some criticize the team for not performing as expected under the new coach, Jose Mourinho, others blame Mbappe and his individualism.
Whether or not it's true, what is certain is that the Frenchman seems to be in constant friction with people at the club, especially with Vinicius Jr.
The relationship between the players seems stable for the moment, although at the beginning, when the Frenchman arrived at the white club, arguments and disagreements from both sides were likely.
That is why, to this day, it is said that there is not as close a relationship as they want to paint for us.
The tactic on the field between the two players generates tension, and apparently it is now much more noticeable if we take into account what Mbappe said a few days ago, after the win in the Clasico, where he admitted that Yan Diomande is his favorite.
Speaking about this statement in words gathered by Defensa Central, journalist Nacho Palencia, who works with MARCA, reflects on the meaning behind Kylian's words.
"There is an image that impacted me a bit, which is that, at the end of the Clasico, Mbappe turns in French to a group of people and starts saying that Diomande is his wolf, and it is that no president wants to have another president next to him, but rather wants to have a vice president," Palencia assures.
For the journalist, Mbappe prefers to be the protagonist himself, and because Vinicius also wants to be one, their personalities clash, leading the Frenchman to lean toward someone else.
"Mbappe does not want to have Vinicius next to him at the same status, and the Brazilian did not accept that, and Xabi Alonso did not know what to do; Arbeloa neither... And there is the problem. Mbappe knows that his wolf is Diomande, and that is the club's decision," he explained.
But Palencia is not the only one to notice the situation; ESPN Deportes journalist Mireia Roig also investigated whether Mbappe and Diomande were a better duo than the one he had with Vini when they shared the attack.
"It gives the feeling that he understands himself better with Diomande than with Vini," Roig pointed out.
The question now is whether this duo will work and what decision Mourinho will make when choosing between Vinicius and Diomande. On social media, Madrid fans are clear: Mbappe has become the star, and the answer is to keep the right winger in the starting eleven, but ultimately the decision will fall to the Portuguese coach.
