Real Madrid forward and superstar, Kylian Mbappe, has taken to his social media to respond to some disgraceful comments made out of Paraguay.
On Saturday evening, France managed to overcome an organised and very physical Paraguay side with a 1-0 win thanks to a penalty scored by Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe.
Now, there has been criticism labelled at the Paraguayans for their antics on the pitch. Diving, time wasting, fouling, gamesmanship, cheating, dark arts, and so on and so forth.
However, it is something off the pitch that ended up paling the above into complete insignificance. Indeed so, as Paraguayan senator, Celeste Amarilla, launched a repulsive attack at Mbappe (RMC Sport via Madrid Zone): "This brute hasn't even learned to write. Instead of breastmilk, he grew up sucking on coconuts, and the most educated creatures he ever heard were chimpanzees.
You should've given him the middle finger, Orlando Gill [Paraguay keeper}. A colonized Cameroonian, pretending to be French, resentful, newly rich, arrogant, and ugly. He was nervous and scared to death all game, like his whole team. They didn't even manage to score a single goal, until they got lucky with a penalty.
The only thing many of us blame the team for is not giving him a full-handed slap at the end of the game. I'm not even a football fan." So, there you have it. Vile comments indeed.
To which, Mbappe himself responded, by saying: "Madame Celeste Amarilla, You are a despicable woman and unworthy of your position. You do not represent Paraguay, that country which has sweated passion and honor throughout the competition.
Through your recklessness and your brazen racism, the entire world has already forgotten the journey and the historic effort that your players accomplished during this World Cup, making way for an incompetent woman who gives the worst possible image of her country.
I will never allow people like her the freedom to spread their hatred and racism across the world." A very mature and professional response from the Frenchman to a statement of such hatred, bitterness and division. He continues to represent Real Madrid and France in the best possible way.
Meanwhile, the government of Paraguay have released their own statement, completely condemning the words of Amarilla, stating that her words are contrary to the values and principles that Paraguay promote as a country. For their full statement, you can click this link here. Some strong words from them, but as they say, actions always speak louder than words, so we shall see on that one.
Just once again, it cannot be overstated how powerful that statement from Mbappe was. At 27, you can tell he is a real leader and a very emotionally mature and responsible person. No doubt all fans of Real Madrid wish him all the very best for the rest of the World Cup, and look forward to seeing him at the Bernabeu again next season.
