Manchester City fans genuinely fear that, following a harsh sanction for breaching 114 rules, their players will decide to leave for other European giants such as Real Madrid or Barcelona.

According to The Sun, many Manchester City fans in England would be worried about the possibility of Real Madrid or Barcelona signing their biggest star, Erling Haaland, or, really, any of their important players. This would be a real possibility because of the uncertainty currently facing the English club and its financial future.

Martin Blackburn said the club's future is uncertain after it was found guilty of numerous financial rule breaches. This could cause an immense exodus of players if a hypothetical points deduction is finalized, which could easily be huge and condemn them to certain relegation at the end of the season.

Let's remember that Manchester City was found guilty of 114 of the 115 financial irregularities it was accused of by the Premier League. In the coming weeks, the independent commission that has been in charge of handling the case will determine a sanction for the club. Both City and the Premier League will be able to appeal said decision in case they do not agree with it.

In England, they place Haaland as the favorite on the part of the Spanish giants - Real Madrid and Barcelona - in case said exodus of talent from City happens. Even so, there are many 'Citizen' players who could interest them in the same way, for example: Josko Gvardiol, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Elliot Anderson, Enzo Fernandez and Rayan Cherki. Of course, they would still cost a fortune, since none of them has a release clause in their contracts in case of relegation.

All of those are big names, but based on the Merengue team's current situation, what is most needed would be the Croatian Gvardiol. A young defender with many qualities both defensively and offensively. With the situation both Eder Militao and Raul Asencio are living through, who are not yet in full form to return and have many matches without competitive rhythm, bringing in someone like Gvardiol would be excellent.

The undisputed starters currently are Dean Huijsen and Ibrahima Konate, but the latter suffered an injury recently in a training session with the French national team. Antonio Rudiger is usually the first substitution option and delivers, but his contract ends next summer. Meanwhile, Asencio seems to require surgery, and Militao is in the last phase of recovery after having his leg operated on. A new option for the defense with a young and reliable player would be excellent.
