Michael Olise responds to the praise that his French national team teammate and Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe, has made about him.

The 2026 World Cup began in early June, and the French national team is preparing to continue adding points with a squad full of stars, with Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé as captain of Les Bleus.

The French national team is full of high-level players, and among those standing out most in the media is Bayern Munich right winger Michael Olise, 24.

Due to the significant media impact he has had, even Mbappe himself has come out to publicly praise his teammate, especially after France's victory against Senegal (3-1), as Olise assisted the Bondy native on two occasions, helping him score both goals.

Speaking in an interview with L'Equipe, Mbappe assured that Olise is a fundamental figure for the future of French football, assuring that although his teammate is a very introverted person, his feet speak for him, and he warns the press that they must accept him as he is, because he does not think he will change.

He is the player of today and of tomorrow. He has elegance and vision in his game. We get along very well, and lately we speak in French. He speaks it well, although his personality means that you may never know if he improves, because he does not talk much to the press (laughs). Michael is introverted; he measures every word, but his feet speak for him. Accept him as he is: he will never change. He is an extraordinary player and a great person.

And despite having the backing of his team and one of the best forwards in the world, Olise prefers to remain humble and not inflate his ego.

Responding to Mbappe's praise, in words collected by GOAL, Olise admitted that it is very nice to hear those words, especially if they come from his friend, because he is someone he admires; however, he prefers to keep his feet on the ground and continue improving to, in the future, become his best version.

It is a huge compliment. Do I agree? No, but it is nice to hear it, especially from Kylian. When someone you play with and admire says that, it is always appreciated. For now, I am a player of the present. If I continue to work hard and keep my feet on the ground, I hope to become, indeed, a player of the future.

-Michael Olise.

Olise has stood out in the transfer market at the end of this season, attracting the attention of Europe's big clubs, and, above all, of none other than Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.

Florentino assured, after having called elections for the club's presidency last month, that if re-elected, he would bring in a player of such magnitude that he would be considered a 'Galactico.'

The press initially believed it was Olise, but the president came out to say it was not. Shortly after, they tried to say it was actually Julian Alvarez, a player from Atletico Madrid, but this did not convince anyone.

Until now, everyone has believed that the target has always been the Frenchman, but L'Equipe now reports that Real Madrid has broken the silence and says there is no contact with the player, and that they maintain respect for the German club and good relations.

With a contract valid until June 2029, no move can be made for the young star because the World Cup stands in the way, and Olise will continue to be low-profile but with great feats on the field, and perhaps the only way for the duo with Mbappe to happen is, for now, through the French national team.
