Vinícius Jr.'s four-match ban for pulling a player's hair sparks debate in Spain, with journalist Antón Meana saying the rule should be reviewed going forward.

One of the controversies of recent days is the sanction handed to Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior for an apparently unintentional hair pull on the Villarreal player.

The Referees' Technical Committee has decided to sanction him with two matches for that action, plus another two for his subsequent reaction, in which he protested to the referee, claiming that an injustice was taking place. This has drawn the attention of many people, including journalist Antón Meana.

"I have read the rule, and everything is correct, but what happened with Vinícius is an action that doesn't injure an opponent or cause anything serious. They take away a goal; he misses half a match and another four. I understand they applied the regulations, but that wasn't enough to keep him out of four matches. You can't make a tailor-made suit, but in the future they should review it," Antón Meana said on El Larguero.

Afterward, a panelist suggested that the fact that Vinícius Júnior committed the act matters a lot, because if it had been any other player, there would be more talk about it being a scandal that he got four matches for it.

And he is absolutely right, because it seems Spain uses a different measuring stick for the Brazilian player, and for a long time, it's been much easier to show him a yellow or red card.

Unfortunately, Vinícius Júnior has had to adapt to the climate surrounding him. It is true that, in some situations, his bad reactions and manner have contributed, but some fans believe that does not justify what happened to him or the refereeing Real Madrid has suffered.

There are actions that have been sanctioned against him that, if another player did them, would not be called at all, or if they were, the punishment would be less harsh.

But Vinícius is working to improve in many areas because Real Madrid has long asked him to improve his attitude and temperament. It hasn't always been easy, but he's improved in many areas, though he still has a lot to work on.

Especially now that he is the team's second captain and has to set a better example for his teammates.
