Jose Mourinho faces early criticism at Real Madrid. Journalist Miguel Angel Chazarri says he sees 'no progress'.

The arrival of Real Madrid's new coach, Jose Mourinho, was a media spectacle from the moment his return to the club was rumored, and to this day, this has not stopped happening.

With a new squad, the white team generated too many expectations for the 2026/2027 season, especially after last year's disastrous season.

That is why the fans and the press have grown impatient with the lack of immediate results in this new era for the club, so much so that criticism of Jose Mourinho has arrived quickly.

Last year, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was seeking reelection, and as part of his strategy to win votes, he brought Jose Mourinho back.

The fans had high expectations, as it was believed that the Portuguese coach would impose a firm hand on the players and address what was lacking; however, popular opinion is that the changes are not noticeable.

Recently, journalist Miguel Angel Chazarri stated that he does not see any progress in the team, based on words collected by Defensa Central, noting that he still sees the same errors as last season.

"If they don't tell you that Mourinho is on Madrid's bench this season, you believe Xabi Alonso or Arbeloa are still there because you don't see any progress," Chazarri commented.

For Miguel Angel, the club has not shown any results, and with the club currently in fourth place in the La Liga standings, it is expected that the mood is not particularly positive.

"I don't see play, I don't see results, Barcelona has taken quite a few points from you to be in October, and they have already slipped up in the first important commitment."

It is true that, for Madridistas, Mourinho's arrival hasn't cleaned up the bad image that remained; we can see that easily on the team's official accounts. But not everything should fall on the coach; there are quite a few factors involved in that.

According to Chazarri's feeling, there is also another problem: Arda Guler and Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe are guilty of not dropping back to defend since last season and this is something that is affecting the team on a large scale.

The difficulties in climbing the standings should not fall on only one person; that is why both parties must work together to end the bad habits. Mourinho has not been involved with the team for long, and the adaptation between the players and him will take time.
