Following numerous rumors linking Endrick to Roma or Milan over his lack of minutes at Real Madrid, just four all season, coach Jose Mourinho had to address his plans for the player, and a departure is not among them.
During the press conference prior to this Wednesday's match between Roma and Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho took charge of clearing up any possible doubt there might be about Endrick's future in the Spanish capital. When he was questioned about the Brazilian's departure, the coach flatly ruled out any departure by him in the form of a loan, which is how the rumors had recently been handled.
"Forget it, forget it. Forget about the interested clubs. It is better that they sit down and wait, because otherwise they are going to get tired. He is a player I adore. He is a player who I believe has incredible potential and is very important for us," the Portuguese told TNT Sports Brasil after the incessant rumors about Endrick's possible departure to, curiously, Roma or Milan.
He also spoke about the footballer's situation during this tough start to the season, in which he has only added four minutes so far. "After the preseason, he had an injury that kept him out for more than a month, four or five weeks, from the start of the season. I myself have already spoken with him, because after recovering, the occasion still had not come," he clarified.
Mourinho also used the example of what happened last Saturday against Villarreal to explain a little why this has happened with Endrick. "This match, to our luck, was his bad luck, because when we scored the goal, he was about to come in. He and Bernardo were going to come in practically at the moment we scored the goal. And afterward, winning and with ten, it is normal for a coach to change his mind and have other options."
Finally, the coach closed his opinion on the topic, implying a clear message about what both he and the club think about a possible departure by the Brazilian. "Whoever is interested in him is going to have to fight a lot with me, because I believe he does not need to go out on loan and that he is going to have the greatest success here."
Let's hope that, knowing this, little by little he regains his confidence again so that he keeps adding minutes to his credit. We do not know for certain the footballer's physical state, but it is clear that it is healthy, both physically and mentally, for a player to have competitive activity, not only training. Probably the start of the Copa del Rey is the best news for him, since squad rotation for these matches will be natural, which will give him action no matter what.
